You don’t want stinky sweaty feet taking over your life.

The problem of sweaty feet is common among many people. Some people, however, suffer from excessive foot sweating which can be difficult to manage and cause smelly feet. Spending all day trapped inside your shoes makes your feet sweat and smell. Heat, exercise, and stress cause our feet to sweat. Sweat can easily evaporate from other parts of the body, but it gets trapped in your socks and shoes when it occurs on your feet. Our feet crave fresh air and most shoes don’t give them that luxury.

What you can do to avoid sweaty, stinky feet?

You can’t always walk around barefoot, but you can treat your feet well regardless of whether you’re wearing shoes or not. The more you keep your feet and shoes clean, the less sweaty the soles will be, and the less embarrassing the foot odor will be. Dry your feet thoroughly after washing them with soap and water, especially between the toes, where germs can easily breed. These germs can lead to unwanted fungus infections. Don’t put socks or shoes on your wet feet.

Place your shoes in the sun, let them air dry, and eliminate unwanted odors as other ways to avoid sweaty, smelly feet. Apply foot powder or antiperspirant after washing to keep sweaty feet drier. To allow your shoes adequate breathing time, change your shoes and socks daily. If your feet sweat excessively, it might be helpful to keep two to three extra pairs of socks on hand throughout the day if you have excessively sweaty feet.

Despite feeling light and comfortable, cotton socks retain moisture next to the skin, which can make foot odor worse. In addition to retaining heat, cotton fibers also promote bacterial growth and odor, rather than insulating (like wool). We recommend socks made of synthetic fibers, such as polyester blends. They are durable, wrinkle-resistant, quick-drying, and easy to clean. These socks prevent hot, humid feet.
